TAF Racing Rocks Raleigh
Sorry... couldn't resist... but everyone ran AWESOME despite the "rolling hills". Seriously, I never realized how awful Gorman / Blue Ridge / the greenway by Meredith were until today... miles 6ish-10ish seemed all uphill! Despite this, Brad, Sean, and James all crushed 1:30, running really strong as a pack through Mile 6. Brad was first across the line for TAF, running a 1:25:54 for 3rd in his age group and a new PR. Sean was next, grabbing 1st in his age group. James ran a 1:27:39 (4th age group) and a 19min PR!!! Meghan (2nd age group) and Rita (3rd age group) were next, both running PR's by ~1.5min. Dave, Perry, and Sam also ran great... and there might have been some PR's in that group. Our friends from the TAF Half Marathon Training Program did really well too, and our "new recruit" Brian Fowler ran a 1:15:32 for 2nd overall!!! CONGRATS EVERYONE Results
Also, thank you to everyone who came out and cheered! I know I saw Jennifer, Nicole, and Laurel out there... and I heard others too. It really helped to have support from our teammates... managed to finally catch a group after hearing Nicole and Jennifer cheering... one of the guys turned to me and said... "you must be Meghan"... I think I got in a "[y]es, [th]ose were [my] awe[some] teamm[ates]"!
Bobby Rocks Poland
Looks like Bobby ran AWESOME in Poland, turning in a time of 35:12 for 67th overall... CONGRATS BOBBY!!! Team USA ranked 9th in the Men's Senior Race. Results
Other News
Kirby finished in 5:42:48 (33rd overall) for the Terrapin Mountain 50K, which is quite impressive given the ridiculous 7500+ ft change in elevation!!! Results
Rita and Brad paced/timed at the Umstead 100 this weekend (I have no idea how they are still standing since they both ran amazingly well at Raleigh Rocks too).
So, in summary, TAF ROCKS... CONGRATS EVERYONE and have a great week!!! #20
Congratulations to everyone!
