While "true" barefoot runners run, well, barefoot... it might not be the best idea in the world to just throw away your nice, supportive, cushioned sneakers and tackle the trails of Umstead sans footwear. Furthermore, as the majority of us will never race barefoot, we might need a pair of sneakers for the occasion.
